Green Warriors

Who we are
crushing on

At Green Is The New Black we get to meet some seriously inspiring people. People who are changing the world with their everyday actions. We strongly believe that every little bit counts which is why we are always harping on about #LittleGreenSteps to #LiveMoreConsciously.

This is our inaugural list of Green Warriors, a list which we will continue to do annually. As we were born and raised in Singapore, we are kicking off our first list with change makers from our little red dot. (Psst next year we’re heading to Hong Kong and beyond, and will be open for nominations!). We want to sing at the top of our lungs about these unsung heroes who are fighting the good fight – you know the one to save the planet and humanity.

Yup, do-gooders who have a certain je ne se quoi about the way they are changing the world. This is not a list of hippies (although there are a few thrown in for good measure) these guys are warriors – green warriors.

You may be thinking (a) are they naked and (b) whats with the plants? Wouldn’t you like to know! It takes balls to be a social/environmental entrepreneur, so we did a ballsy shoot, where we are connected to nature. Take from that what you will. We wanted to play around with the simple, yet show the complexities of our beautiful warriors. The fragility, yet strength. The passion, yet softness. The vulnerability and the power.

The collection of portraits were shot by acclaimed French fashion and music photographers Flavien Prioreau and Zoe Kovacs. Flavien made a name for himself as a portraitist for actors, artists, and musicians, and has shot for Rolling Stone, Elle, Universal Music and with celebrities like Diplo, Karlie Kloss, Jean Dujardin and Barbara Palvin. Zoe Kovacs is known for her creative portraits and together with Prioreau, captured the beauty of the Green Warriors.

Without further ado, please meet the class of 2017 (in alphabetical order cause we fair).
